Polybutadiene For Plastics

Our Diene™ polybutadiene rubber has established a reputation as the synthetic rubber of choice to improve impact resistance of styrenic plastics.

HIPS (high impact polystyrene) and ABS (acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene terpolymer) are two widely used styrenic plastics that are modified with rubber.

Diene™ polybutadiene in bale form is designed for HIPS and ABS manufactured by the mass or bulk polymerization processes in which the rubber is dissolved in styrene. This graft polymerization process forms a tougher, more impact resistance plastic.
